Genetic Partner - The Donaldsons - Double D Bar Cattle Company

Double D Bar Cattle Company

Camp Cooley Genetics is proud to announce a Genetic Partnership with Double D Bar Cattle Company, Ronnie and Paula Donaldson, of Ft. Towson, Oklahoma.

Ronnie grew up knowing the meaning of hard work. Through the years he built several successful businesses, but his main love has always been livestock. He has spent his life working with cattle and horses, helping his neighbors with their cattle when they needed it, and rodeoing when he had time. Even though Paula’s "day job" is as Financial Advisor for Edward Jones Investments, she is equally at home in boots and jeans helping Ronnie with any and all tasks on the ranch. She, too, has a deep love for the cattle and, naturally handles most of the paperwork involved in this registered breed.

Although Ronnie and Paula have been involved in the cattle business for years they wanted more. They began seeking something that would satisfy their desire for quality over quantity with the ultimate goal of producing top end herd sires, range bulls, and replacement heifers.

For three years they traveled to different ranches. They talked to industry leaders and studied what best suited their area and their ideals. By coincidence during this time, Ronnie and Paula happened to see an interview on RFD TV with Ken Hughes, Camp Cooley Genetics Director of Genetics and Production, and decided to give Camp Cooley a try. They attended the November 2007 sale, learned about the customer service strength of the Camp Cooley programs and knew immediately they wanted to be a part of what Ronnie states, "are the greatest genetics in the cattle industry . . . The Brinks Blood Line".

Becoming a genetic partner with Camp Cooley Genetics was an easy decision for the Ronnie and Paula to make considering their enthusiasm and will to succeed. Working closely with Camp Cooley Genetics they have developed a herd of approximately one hundred registered cows. They AI all of their cows and use named herd sires as clean up bulls. They annually flush eight to ten donor cows, utilizing an AI and ET program to gain superior genetics. Ronnie says, "Double D Bar Cattle Company is striving to produce the very best top end herd sires, range bulls, and replacement females. Our goal is to be the best of the best in tomorrow’s cattle industry!"
